I do agree with you. We DNS are pretty much making it farmville. But I'm going to be honest and say that that is exactly what I want. And before you judge me for not wanting to be competitive, know that I at least have the courtesy of being honest about it. Besides, didn't Eon. do the same thing? Not trying to judge, but well.....
I like honesty, and honest people. I appreciate the fact that you know what you don't want, and speak up about it.
EoN was a different matter. I was in EoN from the very beginning, and from the start it was never land grabbing to farm. That was never our intention, and EoN was every small when we first started. 5-6 corps if i remember correctly. Our plan was to have a space of our own. I wasn't a director or CEO, but I was in a position to know what was our deal.
But things got out of hand. At the start of PC, Orion, and CRONOS teamed up. CRONOS land grabbed as much as they possibly could, and made it very clear that farming was their objective. EoN grabbed a handful of districts...literally. Some of our corps didn't even have a district first couple days.
Even with our little amount of districts CRONOS attacked, and wanted our land. So that's when the first big war started. Our objective became to wipe Orion and CRONOS off the map. With the combined efforts of EoN and NF, Orion was gone within a week or so. Leaving CRONOS.
Now all this time, other corps had their own beef going on. HS, PHI, KEQ, STB, and a few others, so they let our war be. Nobody joined the bandwagon at that point, and the map was open for business. Which Ill Omens, or rather Nikia, saw an invitation to bite off more than he can chew. Despite other CEO's objecting to him attacking and taking more land than we needed, he still proceeded. By the time he got the boot from his own corp, and the alliance, EoN had way too much land IMO.
By that time we adopted a few smaller corps, and an alliance was formed against EoN. Little did people realize, or cared, that EoN was busy selling off land because it was too much for people to protect, and activity was low.
BUT, and this is the important part, it got an alliance to form against us, which brought back people to the game. It brought me back, as at that point I gave up on DUST.
That war lasted about 2 weeks, and I'm missing out the 1 week war against HS before this. Then AE continued to attack, even though people didn't give a shite about DUST again lol.
The CEO in charge of EoN had already set a date to leave DUST, hence all the land being sold / given away. So in the end, the community got land, and they got sort of fresh start to MH. Problem was, the big blue donut was an inevitability, and DNS control of MH is the result of no competition. No competitiveness left in the DUST community.
Please note that I might have missed a couple details, and facts, but tbh, who cares. EoN was a donut but there still remained competition. DNS is a bigger donut with no competition.
Edit: I'm not complaining, or anything about what DNS did. I'm pointing out that the community has no one to blame but themselves. Either join the farming simulator, or make an alliance against them. In other words, put up, or shut up.
